Proper training enables our staff to provide the highest quality of care to our residents. Our staff development department is responsible for education and hands-on training in all areas of senior healthcare. Through their efforts, Montefiore remains at the forefront of senior healthcare providers, as evidenced by our continued accreditation by JCAHO, the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, and high marks by the Ohio Department of Health. Your support will provide the tools needed to keep our staff in the know. Please consider the following for gifts that make a difference:

• Adult Mannikin: $2,500 – For hands-on training of nursing procedures
• Computer Equipment & Software for Power Point presentations: $2,500 – Laptop computer for portability in training and a projector with screen will enable technologically advanced training on the units.
• Aging Experience Suit: $1,400 – To experience the reality of medical disabilities, staff members wear the suit, which simulates problems with hearing, seeing, walking, climbing, carrying and sitting.
• Digital camera: $350 – To photograph scenarios for training within the facility
• Staff-Training Computer Station & Printer: $3,000 – Dedicated solely to training, a computer station will enable nurses and nursing assistants to research health topics on-line and work on healthcare programs to benefit the residents.
• Stress Awareness Videos, Posters, Charts & Training Flip charts: $20 – $150 per item would assist in education on topics such as arthritis, stroke, and lung disease
• Venous Access Training Model Chest: $450 – Allows nurses to practice scenarios with central lines, like those used for providing total parental nutrition
• Label Maker & Labels: $100 – To print easy-to-read labels for medications and other training materials
• Small Refrigerator: $100 – To store employee health medications
• Sheet Sets: $120 – Six sheet sets in different colors to be solely used in the skills training classroom.
