EXECUTIVE SUMMARY OF THE 2001
MONTEFIORE STRATEGIC PLAN

On August 13, 2001 the Montefiore Board of Directors approved the strategic plan. The Board’s Stragetic Planning committee, through a comprehensive planning process, created a plan for Montefiore to continue to meet the increased needs of Cleveland’s aging Jewish population.
They completed an environmental scan and gathered input from Board members, staff, residents and community members. Building on Montefiore’s 120-year history of innovative programs and services, the completed plan
recommends strategic goals that will ensure Montefiore’s continued leadership position in the field of geriatric care and enhancement of senior adult lives. Key trends in senior healthcare that the Strategic Plan addresses:

  • Government regulations and
changes in funding that impact the
    delivery of senior healthcare
  • Increased acuity of those entering
    nursing homes requires more
    extensive nursing and medical care
  • The desire of senior adults for
    independent living calls for more
    extensive community-based services
