Steve Willensky, chair, Montefiore board of directors (shown above), performs at the
“Elliot and Me” concert at the Cleveland Institute of Music in September.  Steve created, produced and starred in the concert, along with local talent Connor O’Brien, Natalie Green and Sophie Madorsky and special guest Nia Anderson.  The event paid tribute to Steve’s beloved brother, Elliot, who passed away in March 2010 at the age of 66. Elliot Willensky was an acclaimed composer and lyricist who wrote songs for Michael Jackson and the Fifth Dimension. His songs were featured in albums by numerous music stars including Smokey Robinson, Gladys Knight, George Benson, Whitney Houston and Jermaine Jackson. He was music coordinator of “The Tony Orlando and Dawn Show” and wrote jingles for Hertz, Fresca and Chrysler.  The sold-out concert raised over $100,000 for the Elliot Willensky Music Fund of The Montefiore Foundation and Montefiore’s Hospice and Palliative Care Pavilion.
