Anticipated Schedule
Summer 2005

  • Construction begins on the Mandel Rehabilitation Pavilion and expansion of the Post-Hospital Care Center. For easy access, an enclosed walkway will connect the two buildings and all post-hospital care will be consolidated on the first floor.



  • To ensure the dignity and privacy of our residents, there will be a new ambulance entrance and exit.

Fall 2005

  • Our renovation is uplifting in more ways than one. We are adding an additional elevator, bringing the number of passenger elevators to 3. The newest elevator will be automated for Shabbat, and the elevators will now be synchronized to reduce waiting time.
  • The main lobby will be refurbished as The Bach Family Atrium. Along with foliage, the plans include fountains, a baby grand piano, children’s play area, meditation benches and an aquarium.



  • The main reception, admissions, administrative and Religious Services areas will be redesigned.

Winter 2005-2006

  • The Dementia/Special Care Unit residents will find their new home in the refurbished 36-bed unit on Mandel 1. We are creating a spacious new dining room, activity center and secured outdoor garden area.
  • The residents on the current Mandel 1 unit will make their home on the second floor and enjoy the convenience of the newly remodeled Myers 2 area.

Spring 2006

  • As part of this renovation, every resident room will have new floors and wall coverings. Residents will enjoy refurbished bathrooms that will have slip resistant sheet flooring and stylish wall covering. Residents will move into temporary rooms for a very brief period, while their rooms get a face-lift.
  • All the hallways will have new floor and wall covering.
  • The current 2nd floor Rehab area will be renovated and exclusively used for our long-term care residents. Residents will also enjoy the pleasure of baking and cooking as this area will be the new home of Bubbe’s Kitchen.
  • The Malcolm and Helene Zucker & Ronna and Hal Uhrman Gardens will provide a colorful and inviting landscape for residents and their families.
