Our volunteers understand the importance of hospice care. Some have had experience with hospice themselves and want to help other families. Others are simply caring people dedicated to support those in need. They all see their volunteer experience as an opportunity to give back to the community.
Vinney Hospice and Palliative Care of Montefiore has earned a reputation for excellence and our volunteers are central to that superb care. Hospice volunteers are eager to use their time and talents to assist hospice staff, patients and families. Volunteer opportunities are varied and flexible depending upon the volunteer’s availability and the needs of the patients and loved ones. Call the hospice volunteer coordinator at 216.910.2566 and see how you can make a difference. Join our caring team of hospice volunteers and bring a smile to someone’s face.
Vinney Hospice Montefiore – Volunteer Opportunities!
Companionship and support are provided to hospice patients wherever they reside – either at Montefiore, in their own home or in another healthcare facility. We help volunteers understand that hospice philosophy and learn ways to do their volunteer jobs. Special training and support are provided by our professional staff. Ongoing workshops to support and encourage hospice volunteers are offered throughout the year.
Here are some ways you can get involved:
- General office assistance
- Running errands and special projects
- Companionship visits
- Respite care
- Meal and snack preparation
- Legacy documentation with patients and families
- Knitting and sewing projects
- Vigil volunteers
We welcome other creative ways to use your talent and interest. Let us know what you would like to do.
The hospice volunteer program is made possible with support of
The Appelbaum-Kahn Foundation Fund of The Montefiore Foundation.
