NCJW / Montefiore Hospice
Comfort. Dignity. Love.
NCJW / Montefiore Hospice seeks to bring pain management and symptom control, as well as ultimate caring and compassion, to those with a life-limiting illness, their caregivers, families and loved ones. We provide our signature care in the patient's own home, our inpatient unit or in other healthcare facilities.
The earlier a patient with a life-limiting illness enters hospice, the fuller and more enhanced the experience will be. The patient's physician traditionally refers to hospice, but other healthcare professionals, family members or friends are encouraged to make referrals.
Making decisions related to healthcare when we face a life-limiting illness can be confusing and frightening. At your request, the NCJW/Montefiore Hospice will send a representative to answer your questions and clarify the hospice philosophy of care and available services. We can meet with you at the hospital, in your home, or at Montefiore. Non-sectarian and open to the community.

Hospice Volunteers
Our volunteers understand the importance of hospice care. Some have had experience with hospice themselves and want to help other families. Others are simply caring people dedicated to support those in need. They all see their volunteer experience as an opportunity to give back to the community.
The NCJW / Montefiore Hospice has earned a reputation for excellence and our volunteers are central to that superb care. Hospice volunteers are eager to use their time and talents to assist hospice staff, patients and families.
Volunteer opportunities are varied and flexible depending upon the volunteer's availability and the needs of the patients and loved ones. Call the hospice volunteer coordinator at (216) 910-2599 and see how you can make a difference.
Hospice volunteers assist in a myriad of ways including companionship and support, general office assistance, running errands, special projects, respite care, meal and snack preparation, musical interludes, reading, pet therapy, knitting and sewing projects and vigil volunteers. We welcome other creative ways to use your talent and interest. Let us know what you would like to do.
