Montefiore’s hospice and palliative care services offer quality of life with dignity, caring and compassion to those facing a life-limiting illness. We provide care in a patient’s home, in our inpatient six-bed hospice unit, throughout our facility and in other local healthcare facilities. (click on the picture to the right for a larger image)
Designed to create a calm and comforting environment for patients and families experiencing end of-life issues, this welcoming addition to Montefiore will provide life-affirming communal spaces to support the Vinney Hospice and Palliative Care of Montefiore program.
Six dedicated hospice house suites and six dedicated palliative/skilled suites—all with private bathrooms—share cozy gathering spaces including living rooms, kitchen and dining areas. Art, music,massage and Reiki therapies will be offered throughout the pavilion and/or in patient rooms; an interactive play area will enhance visits with children and grandchildren; a consultation room will double as an overnight option for family; a meditation room will be available 24/7; and a meeting room will be used by bereavement groups and hospice volunteers. With its own private entrance and ample parking spaces, family and friends are always welcome to visit with loved ones anytime of the day or night.
For over 20 years, Montefiore’s outstanding hospice team has provided compassionate care for community members during the most challenging times of their lives. For them, this pavilion is a dream come true.
